Magnesia-carbon brick is made from magnesia and carbon materials with the addition of various non-oxide additives. Magnesia carbon brick is a type of basic refractory material. As a composite refractory material, magnesia-carbon brick effectively utilizes magnesia's resistance to slag erosion, as well as high thermal conductivity and low carbon expansion.
Main characteristics of magnesium carbon bricks
- Heat resistance: Carbon Mag bricks have a high softening point, usually at 1900-2000°C, which can meet the high temperature requirements of most industrial production
- High slag resistance: Magnesia-carbon bricks can react with various metal slags at high temperatures, forming a protective layer, preventing further reaction between slag and bricks, therefore they are highly resistant to slag erosion, Particularly suitable for applications with high slag content and difficult situations.
- Low water penetration rate: Magnesia carbon bricks have high density, practically do not absorb water, good water resistance and not damaged by water.
- Thermal shock resistance: The softening temperature of magnesia-carbon bricks can reach more than 1900°C, and the operating temperature range is very wide, which allows them to be used in most industrial furnaces.
