Stages of construction of lining a cement kiln with refractory bricks
What are the requirements for the construction stages of a cement kiln? Extend the life of your oven, knowing some precautions when making fire bricks.
Stages of construction of lining a cement kiln with refractory bricks

(1) Preparation before construction
Build a bridge, clear the construction site and stretch the masonry auxiliary rope.
(2) Construction process
- First build the bottom half-ring of the firebrick cladding;
- The lower half-ring of masonry is completed, and the arch bus formwork platform is installed stably and firmly;
- Place the fire brick on the platform clamping device and press it tightly to the kiln body using a hydraulic cylinder;
- Proceed with laying the upper half-ring of refractory brick cladding;
- lock the brick lock;
- Pouring structure made of cast lining at the mouth of the furnace and in the tail of the furnace;
- Insert steel plate into brick joint, to secure it, and confirm the check.
Basic requirements for refractory brick construction
The refractory brick cladding must lie flush against the shell. The joints of refractory bricks must be tight and straight., intersections must be precise, the bricks must fit tightly together, there should be no distortions, sagging or depression. During the laying process, the concentricity of the brick lining and the kiln drum should be checked frequently.. Don't they overlap?, and make timely adjustments.
The top part of the fire brick lining must be completely attached to the surface of the cylinder without gaps. Large surfaces of adjacent individual bricks must be in complete contact. The length of the processed bricks must be at least 50% from the original brick, and the thickness – no less 80% from the original brick.
Requirements for expansion joints made of refractory bricks
When using the ring masonry method, the permissible deviation in the length of the ring seam per meter should not exceed 2 mm, but the permissible deviation in the length of one ring should not exceed 8 mm.
Requirements for steel plates, wedged into the seams of refractory bricks
The thickness of the steel plate is usually between 1 to 3 mm, and the surface should be smooth, no twisting, Zausencev, etc.; The width of the steel plate should be approximately 10 mm less than the width of the refractory brick; The edge of the steel plate should not exceed the fire brick, and there should be no gaps or jumpers in it; Only one steel plate can be inserted into each brick joint, and the steel plate cannot be inserted into the brick joint of the interlocking brick.
Requirements for interlocking bricks
Each ring is installed in accordance with the position of the last 5-6 bricks, and the combination of base brick and treated brick is pre-laid according to airtightness requirements. Adjacent bricks of a circular seam should be staggered by 1~2 bricks, and the end brick ring should be fixed 1~2 rings ahead of time.
Precautions when installing refractory brick lining in a cement kiln
Do not use hard objects during construction (For example, hammers) for direct impact on bricks, and fire brick masonry cannot be used as an anvil for processing, brick cutting and other operations.
The refractory brick should not have the following phenomena: size inversion, lottery, mixing, misalignment, slope, uneven mortar joints, rise, off center, heavy seams, holes, emptiness, hairline sutures, serpentine curves, brick convexity, missing edges and corners, etc..
