The composition is different

The main component of corundum bricks is aluminum oxide, while chromium-corundum bricks are made on the basis of corundum bricks with the addition of metal oxides, such as Cr2O3.

Fire resistance varies

The fire resistance of chromium-corundum bricks is higher, than corundum bricks, usually above 2000°C, while the fire resistance of corundum bricks is usually around 1800°C.
