Precautions when making a heating furnace
Heating furnace – this device, used for heating materials or workpieces, Widely used in industrial production and laboratories. It transfers thermal energy to the furnace to create high temperatures for heat treatment processes., such as heating, melting, object, calcination and annealing of materials.

Heating furnace bottom design
What kind of refractory materials are used at the bottom of the heating furnace??
Refractory materials, used in the bottom of heating furnace, include clay bricks, high alumina bricks, lightweight insulating bricks, lightweight castings and fire-resistant fiber coatings.
Precautions when making the bottom of heating furnaces
- To lay the bottom of the oven, you should first use clay bricks as a base, and then lay the bottom of the furnace. First lay a layer of fire retardant fiber on the outside, and then lay light insulating bricks layer by layer, lightweight cast products, clay bricks and high alumina bricks.
- For refractory brick masonry, expansion joints should be provided with a thickness of approx. 5-6 mm, which should be filled with corrugated paper, and the top and bottom layers of refractory masonry should be laid in a checkerboard pattern.
- During laying every 2 meter, make an expansion joint thick 10-15 mm and fill it with yellow cardboard. Reserved expansion joints must be cleaned before filling.. Once filled, use duct tape to seal tightly, to prevent dirt from entering.
- Refractory mortar is used to fill the seams of the furnace bottom, and it must be filled completely. Use a 2 meter ruler during construction, to check the evenness of each layer of masonry.
- Steel molds are used to fill the refractory mold in the furnace bottom hole., custom made. After completing the mold making, precautions should be taken in the hole, to prevent contaminants from entering the sealed water tank.
Heating furnace roof structure
Castings with low cement content, fire-resistant fiber coatings, light castings, etc..
Precautions when constructing a furnace roof
- When laying the furnace roof, profile templates and wooden blanks are usually used. Steel pipe scaffolding is used to support the wooden formwork of the flat kiln roof and slanted kiln roof, and raised wooden formwork is used for the curved furnace roof at the inlet and outlet ends.
- First install the castings on the top of the heating furnace, and then install the castings on both sides of the furnace wall after drying the furnace, then install lightweight castings for the insulating layer and, finally, lay fire-resistant fibreboard.
- Under construction, according to project requirements, First mark the installation location of each anchor brick and the position of the expansion joint, to correctly install anchor bricks and build formwork in sections.
- Key points in the design of the furnace top: measure and draw a line, First mark the position of the hanging brick and the expansion joint. A gap is left between the formwork and the suspended bricks. 5 mm.
- After that, like a hanging brick is suspended, the gap between the suspended brick and the beam should be sealed with a wooden wedge. Suspended bricks must be positioned vertically in relation to the formwork, and the location of the holes on the furnace roof should be reserved according to the project requirements.
- When pouring, carefully check the stability of the form., and the production of refractory casting product should be carried out from the discharge end to the feeding end.
